Quick Self Esteem Test

The following quick self esteem test is based on the Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale and is perhaps the most widely used self esteem test available. Dr. Morris Rosenberg former professor of Sociology at the University of Maryland between 1975 and 1992, is the author or editor of many books and articles, and his work on the self-concept, particularly the self esteem, is world-renowned.

Self Esteem – Definition

Self esteem is a positive or negative view of yourself. It is an overall view of one’s worth or value. People are motivated to have high self esteem, and having it indicates positive self-regard, not egotism, which, like low self esteem, is another unbalanced view of the self.

It is important to understand self esteem and self-worth as a unique part of who you are. Your personal value is likely to be influenced by external factors, but for the purposes of this evaluation we are looking at how you value yourself as a person.

By taking this quick self esteem test you will be able to gain a clearer insight into how you see yourself. As our self-worth is so fixed and central to our being it can be one of the hardest things to adjust. In fact, it is doubtful if it can ever be permanently changed, but just accepted and hopefully adjusted. Gaining awareness is a huge step in understanding yourself better and by using appropriate tools and resources, with time, a more balanced sense of your self-worth can be achieved.
